Times Square has set up mobile webcasts, hosted by Mean Girls’ Jonathan Bennett, at TimesSquareNYC.org, NewYearsEve.nyc, TimesSquareBall.net. You can also watch via Facebook or Twitter or download the Times Square App, available both in iTunes and Google Play.
ONLINE:
If you’re without a cable connection and want a bigger screen than your phone, you can watch it online. TV Guide has embedded the live stream above, courtesy of TimesSquareNYC.org.
TV NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIALS
If you are partying around the TV, there are several specials for you to choose from.
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest
Channel: ABC
Time: 8 p.m. ET
What to Expect: Ryan Seacrest returns for his 13th year of hosting the Dick Clark New Year’s Rockin Eve. He will be joined again by Jenny McCarthy with recording artist Cierra hosting the Los Angeles festivities and Lucy Hale returns as host of the New Orleans countdown host.
Musical performances include: Camila Cabello, Nick Jonas, Sugarland Kane Brown, BTS, Kelly Clarkson, Fitz & The Tantrums, Florida Georgia Line, Halsey, Khalid, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Portugal. The Man and more.
What to Look Out For: Mariah Carey will also return to redeem herself after last year’s performance, which was riddled with technical difficulties and ended with Carey walking off stage.
New Year’s Eve Live
Channel: CNN
Time: 8 p.m. ET
What to Expect: Anderson Cooper will host the CNN New Year’s festivities for the 11th year, this time with new cohost Andy Cohen. The broadcast will also feature contributions from other CNN anchors from across the country and around the world.
What to Look Out For: Andy Cohen is replacing Kathy Griffin for the broadcast, who was fired after tweeting a controversial picture of a decapitated Donald Trump. The stunt not only cost her the job, but according to the comedienne, her friendship with Cooper. We’ll see if Cohen, who hosts Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, will bring up the Griffin sized elephant in the room or not.
Fox New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey: Live From Times Square!
Channel: Fox
Time: 8 p.m. ET
What to Expect: Steve Harvey is taking over the New Year’s Eve festivities on Fox from Pitbull. The show is moving to New York in the thick of Times Square after several years in Miami and welcomes Andra Day as Harvey’s cohost.
Musical guests include: Maroon 5, Zac Brown Band, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Macklemore featuring Skylar Grey, Flo Rida and Neil Diamond
What to Look Out For: Steve Harvey is known for being an audacious host and as his first year with the New Year’s gig, look for him to say something over the top between musical acts.
All-American New Year
Channel: Fox News
Time: 8 p.m. ET
What to Expect: Ed Henry, Lisa Boothe and Dean Cain kick off Fox News’ New Year’s Eve celebration with a two-hour “Countdown to 2018” special before Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery and Jesse Watters take over hosting the broadcast from Times Square.
What to Look Out For: Fox News is deploying 360-degree cameras all around Times Square to bring an “immersive New Year’s Eve experience” to their viewers. Check out how that looks live and don’t forget in to send in your New Year’s resolutions to the network using the hashtag #foxnews2018 on social media.
