Nintendo’s intent to make a Wii remote with MotionPlus built-in gained street cred when GameStop listing shows a bundle with a new model. The ad for the first-party kids’ game FlingSmash mentions a Wii Remote Plus being included inside. Little has changed on the outside, but the game needs MotionPlus to work and so would have to have at least the MotionPlus add-on, which isn’t in the box.
The stand-alone Wii systems are already shipping in bundles with MotionPlus add-ons, but Nintendo hasn’t made it simple to get a remote with MotionPlus after getting the console itself. A Remote Plus would guarantee that every player in a game could use the extra precision without having to get a separate add-on.
Nintendo hasn’t mentioned the Remote Plus itself or given a release date, but FlingSmash is due to ship November 7.
