Xbox boss Phil Spencer has spoken positively about the potential for Rare IP to be featured as DLC in Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Now that would be something to behold.
@PedroDarkinson I think it would be cool if Banjo was in the next SSB DLC. We've worked with Nintendo on Rare IP before, no issues.

This is in reference to the recently launched Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot, which allows fans to submit votes for characters that they want to see as future DLC for the fighting games. Asked about the possibility of Banjo – who made his début in N64 title Banjo-Kazooie – votes becoming a reality, the amiable Microsoft executive stated that it’s certainly possible, emphasizing that Nintendo and his company have previously co-operated on Rare IP with “no problems”.
We were under the impression that was all in Nintendo’s hands as owner of the Donkey Kong IP, but that’s speculation.
We won’t know for some time whether this can be a reality!
