YouTube has decided to make Autoplay On Home available to everyone.
The feature, which has been available to YouTube Premium (formally YouTube Red) subscribers for several months, begins rolling video previews automatically. YouTube suggests that previewing videos helps people make a “more informed decision” about whether or not they want to view the entire video.
The videos will play without sound, and can include captions if desired. Autoplay On Home can be set to roll videos only when on WiFi, or turned off entirely.
The feature will reach all users on Android and iOS over the next few weeks.
