Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming) has reportedly been offered the lead role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, the upcoming live-action remake of the animated Disney Pictures feature.
That Hashtag Show broke the news about the film which will boast songs from Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with Rob Marshall slated to be director from a script by Jane Goldman.
The project will serve as both an adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale and the 1989 Disney animated classic based on it. \
Miranda will also produce with Marc Platt, the pair involved in Disney’s upcoming Mary Poppins Returns film.
