ZTE has started shipping a combined projector and hotspot in the United States. The ZTE Spro 2 Smart Projector follows on from last year’s Sprint LivePro, also produced by ZTE, with the device being able to project a 720p-resolution image to a screen as large as 120 inches diagonally at 200 lumens, complete with autofocus and auto keystone correction.
Measuring an inch tall and weighing in at one pound, it includes a five-inch LCD touchscreen, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2GHz processor, and 2GB of RAM powering Android 4.4 on the device. While it can play content from HDMI, USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth sources, it can also play files stored on its 16GB of storage or microSD, and can even stream video through apps downloaded from the Google Play store.
Aside from its projection abilities, its 6,300mAh battery is said to allow for up to 2.5 hours of projection time, though it can also offer up to ten hours of life when used as a hotspot. Connecting over Verizon’s LTE network, is capable of sharing the cellular connection with up to ten devices.
The ZTE Spro 2 is being sold for $599 off-contract.
